My obsession with discovering new ways of seeing has led me to contemplate the transformative power of glasses and mirrors. These simple yet profound tools offer a direct path to altering our perception of the world and ourselves.

Through the act of looking in the mirror, we come face to face with our own image, and in doing so, we begin to establish self-awareness. I believe that this awareness originated with our earliest ancestors. The "first mirror" in the world was likely the reflection they saw of themselves in the water, where they discovered their bodily existence in a new way.

Similarly, glasses allow us to see the world more clearly, revealing details and nuances that might have been hidden to us before. But they also offer a glimpse into the inner workings of our minds and the limitations of our perception.

In my work, I seek to restore the original purpose of glasses and mirrors by reimagining their role in contemporary society. By installing two mirrors in front of a pair of glasses, I invite the viewer to observe their own eyes and contemplate their inner self. Through this act of self-reflection, I hope to inspire a new way of seeing that goes beyond the surface and delves deep into the essence of who we are.
